THE CREATIVE PROCESS AT MARJAN KALHOR COUTURE
Our couture process is a journey of collaboration, precision tailoring, and in-house hand embroidery. Crafted in our Dubai atelier, each piece is developed from first consultation to final fitting, with couture-level attention to detail at every stage.
Timeline: Couture orders typically require 4–8 weeks, depending on design and embroidery.
1. Private Appointment
Your journey begins with a private consultation at our Dubai atelier. We discuss your vision, occasion, and silhouette to guide the design direction.
2. Measurements
Precise measurements are taken to ensure the piece is shaped to your body. Each gown is created around you, not standard sizing.
3. Design Creation
A design is developed exclusively for you, refined for proportion, movement, and detail. Every line is created to complement your style.
4. Toile (Calico) Fitting
A toile is created to perfect the structure and fit before cutting the final fabric. This stage refines balance, comfort, and shape.
5. Embroidery Sampling
Embroidery motifs are sampled and approved before being applied to the final gown. This ensures perfect color, texture, and placement.
6. Couture Construction
The final fabric is cut and the gown begins to take form. Couture techniques are used to achieve clean structure and elegant drape.
7. Hand Embroidery & Details
Each bead, crystal, and stitch is applied by hand in our atelier. This is where craftsmanship transforms design into couture.
8. Fitting
You return for a fitting as the gown is refined on the body. Adjustments are made to perfect silhouette, comfort, and movement.
9. Final Finishing
The piece is completed with couture finishing, lining, internal support, and final detailing. Every element is checked to perfection.
